Building the capacity of organizations to provide and expand culturally relevant HIV/AIDS programs and services for California's African Americans.

ONE Love’s website is an educational resource designed to provide information on HIV and other health disparities disproportionately impacting the African American community. African Americans represent 19 percent of all AIDS cases, yet constitute less than 7 percent of California’s population.

ONE Love’s website will provide information on technical assistance and capacity building and training, a statewide African American HIV/AIDS Service Directory, policy and advocacy tools and information, to include legislative updates, HIV prevention and community HIV health promotion methods and best practices culturally relevant to African Americans. The ONE LOVE website also will serve as a repository for research and information dissemination.

The site also includes links to local, statewide, and national resources for organizations, coalitions, and individuals to maximize your HIV prevention, community mobilization and coalition building efforts.

It is our hope that the ONE LOVE website will serve as a catalyst for encouraging African Americans in California to:

  • Engage in effective health information seeking
  • Increase access and effectiveness of HIV/AIDS prevention services
  • Increase the amount of community–based research activity and accessible data within and among African American communities
  • Support regional collaborations between various organizations to mobilize and sustain HIV/AIDS prevention efforts for those at the highest risk for HIV infection within the African American community.
